Volunteer Opportunity – Be a Friend to a Catholic Brother

Do you have 30 minutes to an hour to spare each week or fortnight? We’re looking for someone warm, patient, and compassionate to spend time with one of our Catholic Brothers. Whether it’s a simple chat, reading together, a quiet board game, or watching the news side by side, your presence can bring comfort, connection, and a sense of companionship.

Even a short visit has the power to brighten someone’s day in a truly meaningful way.

Requirements:

A valid Working With Children Check

Proof of 2 COVID-19 vaccinations

A recent flu vaccination

This is a beautiful opportunity to build connection and brighten someone's week — all it takes is your time and kindness.

Your impact

Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.

Requirements

18 years or older • National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare • Evidence of COVID-19 vaccination will be required (Two doses) • Flu vaccination • Working with children's check

Ideally you'll be available one hour per week/fortnight for 6 months or longer. We'd be happy to chat with you about a suitable day and time during the week between 9am and 5pm.
