Site Engineer - Structural, Mechanical & Piping (SMP) - Rapid Progression

An opportunity to join the exciting and energetic team on the PEM50 Hydrogen Project – Gladstone Green Energy Manufacturing Centre, Queensland - Australia's 1st fully automated electrolyser manufacturing facility​

Position: Site Engineer – Structural, Mechanical & Piping (SMP)

Location: Gladstone, Queensland

Duration: 9-months casual contract

Roster: 5:2 local OR 2:1 FIFO/DIDO from QLD

The SMP Engineer will be responsible for coordinating the delivery of:

• Structural fabrication and installation
• Mechanical installation
• Piping fabrication and installation

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering preferred
• Driving License
• White Card
• Minimum 5 years experience in SMP on site field engineering
• Experience in SMP engineering for major capital projects in the renewables, oil & gas and mining preferred.
• Proficient skills in the management of specialized packages for a multi-discipline green field project.
• Understanding of planning, scheduling and project controls.
• The ideal candidate would be someone from Gladstone who is looking to take their career to the next level while still remaining close to home. FIFO/DIDO can be considered for the right candidate, 2:1 roster and client will provide flights from QLD and local camp accommodation.

Main Functions

• Assist the Senior Project Engineer in the management of Contractors from contract award through mobilization, execution to scope completion.
• Coordination and facilitation of contractor works, ensuring the scope is delivered to schedule and budget, including review of contractor documentation and reporting.
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including design changes, field reports, and correspondence.
• Assist with reviews of QAQC documentation, execution methodologies and schedules.
• Conduct site inspections and quality checks for signoffs and monitoring of construction progress, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and budget management.
• Assist in contractor cost estimation and budget management.
