Take a leading role in the run and operations of our products and channels, works with both IT development and operations with the goal of creating, maintaining and improving scalable and reliable systems for our stakeholders. From daily operations, incident management and investigation and support this role is hands on fixing issues and building highly resilient tools. The role will include automation / monitoring / incident resolution / team collaboration / security operations /continuous improvement.

Your responsibilities
  • Connect - Build strong relationships with our product, engineering, cyber, data and delivery stakeholders. Research and learn, bringing in innovative thought leadership to the team and driving designs that are contextual given our current landscape, our regulatory obligations and our future goals.
  • Solve - Quickly analyse complex problems to help identify root cause of incidents, problems and support cases while directly contributing to the design and build out of a modern digital operating environment. Deliver highly resilient solutions to immediate problems while working with our engineering teams to improve engineering practices.
  • Operate - Work in close partnership with our product and engineering team members to ensure stable and resilient platform and product operations and controlled release management while working with our teams to automate operational tasks and codify monitoring controls.
  • Assure, run and manage - Support the team across quality engineering enabling consistent patterns, assessment of quality and improvements to designs to simplify our landscape, eliminate waste and to operation and run manage the platforms safely. A hands-on problem solver that deeply understands the technology landscape within which we operate.
  • The role is required to work across all domains including public access channels, subscription channels, data/Innovation and enterprise technology.

Must have
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or related technology.
  • 5+ years' experience in automation engineering.
  • Experience with programming languages: Java, .Net, JavaScript, Python, React, SQL, Node.js, PowerShell, Bash,
  • Hands-on experience designing, developing and delivering solutions for Operations and Run teams.
  • Stakeholder management, influence and engaging across technology, architecture and Business teams.
  • Knowledge in: CI/CD, unit testing, production readiness, microservices, automation, troubleshooting, tuning and performance, secure coding and data/application protection.
  • Familiarity with: ITIL, security infrastructure, security control and operation experience. This includes AWS security design and implementation, SSO, public key infrastructure and Identity Access Management.
  • Strong knowledge of IT Service Management platforms using tools such as ServiceNow and Jira.
  • Domain experience in financial services or experience in a highly regulated industry, particularly exposure to compliance, risk management and regulatory practices.

Nice to have
  • Experience working with ServiceNow Event Management and Open Telemetry
  • Experience with test automation tools: Selenium, Playwright
  • Experience with Artificial Intelligence
  • Cloud certification or other related technology certification
