We are a residential/commercial building company who over the last 2years have experienced significant growth through our quality of work, efficient construction timeframes and overall client satisfaction. We are currently involved in all areas of residential construction with jobs ranging from extensions and renovations, architect tendered projects, multi-unit developments and homes in new estates. Our jobs are based all around Melbourne however we have recently established our base in a new office in Coburg.
As the site supervisor you will be running up to 10 current jobs which will see you visiting job sites on a daily basis to meet with trades and coordinate works. Your core functions will be to ensure all jobs are running efficiently, trades are coordinated and working to the quality expected, and site amenity and safety is of the highest standard.
You will report directly to the Director of the company and liase with the Project Manager on a daily basis. Both will provide you with the full support and systems to ensure you are able to perform your role effectively and will assist with your duties when required.
Your main duties and essential job functions will be as follows:
-meet new trades starting on site to go through their scope of works and what’s required from them
-coordinate the work flow to ensure jobs are progressing efficiently with no delay
-resolve on site design issues as they arise i.e RL levels, structural stee/timber framing etc
-check work of all subcontractors for correctness, material used, accuracy and specification quality
-carry out stage checklist inspections i.e. prior to slab pour, prior to plaster
-manage all aspects of site safety to comply with current OH&S and Workcover regulations
-manage all aspects of site operations to ensure all deliveries and trade access are maintained throughout the project
The following skills are required:
-highly organised and able to maintain job diaries and checklists
-be highly proficient at reading plans and conveying detail to trades
-be able to communicate clearly and confidently
-a clear thinker who can handle pressure situations and be able to ‘take a step back’ when need be to resolve issues as they arise
-be able to read project schedules and plan ahead
-computer literate
To be considered for the role you must have a carpentry qualification and previous experience working in a supervisor/foreman role in the residential sector.
The successful candidate must have their own vehicle (ute or station wagon preferable – a fuel card will be provided) and a range of carpentry tools for minor works which they may be called upon to perform.
