The Role

SMSF Accountant - Full Time

$85,000-$100,000 plus super

We are a Camberwell based CPA firm which is part of a multi-disciplinary financial services business who are seeking an experienced CPA/CA qualified accountant to fill an important role within the organisation. You will be joining a friendly and supportive team that encourages continual growth and development with training encouraged and provided for. 

Supporting the SMSF Senior Manager, key responsibilities include:

• Being the conduit to various internal and external stakeholders to enable the preparation and review of financial statements and SMSF annual returns.
• Interaction with clients including but not limited to collection of information, attending to queries and explaining Superannuation concepts and strategies. 
• Monitoring and management of client ATO accounts and correspondence with the ATO where required.
• TBAR Lodgements, pension commencements and Centrelink tasks.
• Workflow management to ensure deadlines and progress milestones are met.
• General administration duties relating to the SMSFs.

About You

The successful applicant should possess the follows qualifications and attributes:

• CPA/CA Qualified with a minimum of 5 years experience in Superannuation within a public practice setting.
• Strong knowledge of superannuation legislation.
• Well organised and able to handle multiple tasks, practice good time management and manage priorities in a fast paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills enabling interaction with all levels of the organisation and external stakeholders.
• Exposure and experience in using software such as Class, Xero, FYI, XPlan, Smartsheet and Microsoft Office would be highly regarded and preferred.
• RG 146 qualifications would be beneficial.
• Able to work in a group with other team members but also able to work independently with a proactive mindset.
• Open to learning and growing your existing skill set.
