You will be joining a fantastic, award-winning Software Asset Management team in our extensive Managed Services business. The SAM team support each other and work collaboratively across a range of managed and professional services. You would be a key contributor to the management of the Software Asset Lifecycle for our customer in a role that is ideal for someone who is experienced in Software Asset Management, or Software Licensing, and loves working with the customer and is keen to develop a career with lots of variety and opportunity. Our offices are based in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney. You must hold Australian Citizenship as a Baseline Security Clearance is required, and it will be advantageous if you already have one.

What You will Do

In this role you will work collaboratively with other Software Asset Management (SAM) team members, Software Licensing Consultants, and Service Delivery Managers. The Software Asset Manager will:

  • Manage the relationship with key Customer stakeholders and Datacom Managed Services teams
  • Function as the SAM Subject Matter Expert for the account
  • Ensure effective and smooth delivery of our SAM services to the customer
  • Identify the software inventory, capturing license entitlements, performing ongoing software compliance checks, and remediation as appropriate
  • Manage, maintain, and facilitate the renewal of software maintenance and subscriptions by validating the renewal details, ensuring the information is correct and valid. You will also update the Software Asset Register/Technology with the new contract and license details
  • Facilitate software procurement for the account including obtaining quotes from software vendors, resellers, or Datacom’s internal procurement team, and following the procurement approvals process. You will apply the associated software lifecycle management tasks as part of the procurement process
  • Review current software Terms and Conditions, License Agreements, and License Contracts to ensure that the account is not exposed to any breaches or risks
  • Monitor the health of the relevant aspects of the SAM technology that impact service delivery and proactively collaborate with technical teams to ensure the technology is maintained to acceptable standards
  • Interpret data outputs from the SAM technologies and other tools to provide accurate and timely reporting
  • Perform license reclamation activity and record cost savings and avoidance
  • Propose remediation and optimisation activities that may result in reduced compliance risk and/or financial savings and cost avoidance
  • Experience in using SAM technologies and their capabilities, in particular, Flexera FlexNet Manager Suite, Snow License Manager, or Service Now SAM Pro
  • Experience with ITSM tools like Cherwell, Service Now, and Jira ITSM will be advantageous

What You Will Bring

We are looking for a proactive, independent, enthusiastic team member who is interested in being part of a larger group delivering a high quality and complex service to our customers. You will bring expertise developed over 3+ years in a Software Asset Management or Licensing Sales position as you will be supporting the delivery of the Software Asset Management (SAM) service for a large Federal Government account. Your ability to work with other members of the client management team to develop and deliver quality solutions for our customer is critical to the success of our service. As part of the role you will deliver quality customer service enhancements in optimising the SAM Service. This will include planning the service implementation, championing the delivery of the service and processes, plus verification and continued maintenance of the SAM Service.
