Tell me about this role:

Jacobs are searching for Software Engineers/Developers to plan and manage the delivery of software development tasks within the Defence critical Defence Projects.

What will I be doing day to day?

• Design and develop a suite of bespoke semi-autonomous software applications using agile methodologies
• Provide software development best practise methodologies with important consideration to application security
• Produce various technical and non-technical documentation
• Operate within the technical governance frameworks of Defence, specifically with a focus on ICT and cyber security
• Communicate complex technical and operational subjects to a wide audience

  
What sort of skills do I need?  

• Tertiary qualifications in Software Engineering, Computer Science, IT, Telecommunication or a related discipline
• 5+ years’ experience working in a software development team
• Experience delivering products in an Agile and/or DevOps environment
• Experience in
  • Software development (Python, RESTful API, JavaScript)
  • Linux & Windows
  • Networking (Cisco or similar)
  • Automation (Ansible, Puppet)
  • Containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • VMWare
• Australian citizenship and an NV1 clearance as a minimum
