Software Developer

Create a high-quality software product within an elite and experienced team of developers innovating on various exciting aspects of Semios/Agworld. 

What will you do? 

As a full stack software developer, you will primarily utilise Ruby on Rails and React to iteratively design, test and deliver high-quality code and customer-focused features. Our stack also includes Node, AWS, Kubernetes, Go, Postgres, Docker, Terraform and Objective C, Swift for iOS. Other features of the role include:

• It is a full-time, permanent role, based in West Leederville in a fully hybrid environment with no minimum days in office. Applicants from elsewhere in Australia are encouraged to apply.
• Write secure, well designed and well-tested code within Ruby and Typescript. 
• Most days involve solving complex real-world agricultural problems to improve farming processes and increase profitability and efficiency for farmers.
• You will operate alongside other Developers, Testers and Product Managers, who all work together on continually improving our infrastructure, tooling, and practices to maintain a high-quality product.
• UX and design thinking is an important aspect of our process and you will be able to validate your work through early feedback, usability testing and customer reviews.
• Your choices will have a direct impact on the product we build and you’ll have the satisfaction of seeing the features that you have championed and designed utilised and appreciated by our customers.

What do you need? 

• This role is only available to people located in Australia or New Zealand with full, permanent working rights, please do not apply if you require sponsorship from an employer to relocate to these nations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical experience.
• 4+ years of full stack software engineering.
• Previous success developing and shipping a web application with a customer and user-focused mindset.
• Skilled with web technologies including Typescript/Javascript and React, with exposure to mobile app technologies a plus.
• If you are experienced in languages other than those listed we still encourage you to apply as we offer training in our technologies because we believe that strong engineers are polyglots. (Java, C#, Python, Elixir, and others welcome).
