Job Description - Software Developer l Disability & Aged Care

  • Full-time | Permanent

  • Perth location

  • Hybrid working: 2 days in office, 3 days WFH

Does a competitive salary package with company stock, five wellness days per year, a flexible benefits package of $1000 per year and a fantastic team culture spark your interest?

Meet AlayaCare! We’re a fast-growing SaaS scale-up on a mission to transform aged and disability care across Australia, Canada, the US and beyond. Our platform helps care providers deliver exceptional service in homes, communities, and residential settings.

We’re big on Tech with Purpose and passionate about improving lives while building strong software, strong teams, and better outcomes for customers.

The Role:

We're on the lookout for a Software Developer to join the Nightingale engineering team who’s ready to contribute high-quality software, collaborate across Product and Engineering, and help deliver great outcomes for our clients.

Nightingale is a home care and NDIS software platform with a strong track record supporting community service providers across Australia — now part of AlayaCare, and at an exciting point of growth and integration.

Nightingale operates on a Webforms .NET framework platform, using .NET/C# for full-stack development. As part of our modernisation strategy, Nightingale also uses React/JavaScript for front-end development and modern .NET for back-end development.

In this role, you’ll work closely with your team to scope work, understand goals and requirements, and contribute to the design and implementation of our product. Working with senior engineers, you’ll also help support broader technical initiatives and contribute to the product-wide technical roadmap as we continue to advance our shift toward continuous software delivery.

Your days will involve:

  • Designing, coding, testing, and debugging complex software as a full-time member of the development team

  • Participating in code reviews to build your skills and foster technical innovation in component reuse, extensibility, maintainability, and scalability

  • Monitoring applications in production and proactively identifying and fixing issues clients are encountering

  • Contributing to the implementation of the product-wide technical roadmap and supporting technical cross-team initiatives

  • Working with the Product team to clarify requirements and help shape effective solutions

  • Planning, implementing, and executing end-to-end automated tests that validate high-quality results

  • Building security and performance into everything you do

You’ll thrive in this role if you:

  • Bring 2+ years of professional software engineering experience

  • Have professional development experience in .NET C#

  • Have professional exposure to contemporary JavaScript frameworks, with React preferred, and corresponding unit testing frameworks

  • Have some exposure to SQL databases, Git, CI/CD tools, Docker, cloud computing platforms, with Azure preferred, and AI tools or workflows

  • Are comfortable working in an AI-assisted engineering environment and know how to use AI to find effective ways to solve problems and improve delivery effectiveness without over-relying on it.

  • Stay aware of contemporary industry trends in technology, performance, and software development tooling and practice

  • Are a strong communicator who can engage effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or a related field

Bonus points if you:

  • Have exposure to aged care, disability care, health tech, or other purpose-driven industries

We believe great work should be rewarded. Here’s how we show our appreciation:

  • Choose your own 2 days/week in office, 3 days WFH

  • Competitive salary + company stock (RSUs)

  • 5 Wellness days per year

  • $1,000/year flexible benefits package

  • Company-paid parental leave

  • 2 days company-paid volunteer leave to support causes you care about

  • Team lunches, events & wellness activities

  • A genuinely open, inclusive, and collaborative culture

  • A chance to do purposeful work in the fast-paced tech sector, whilst making real impact in the care space.

Belonging matters.

We’re committed to building an organisation that reflects the communities we serve. Diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility aren’t just buzzwords here, they’re woven into everything we do.
