Our Versent Modern Run team is growing. We have a fantastic opportunity for a Software Engineer with application development experience to join our team.

The role's immediate focus will be responsible for managing and maintaining cloud native applications, with a sustainable IT lifecycle mindset and appetite for automation.

The ideal candidate for this role must demonstrate proficiency in full stack development utilising technologies such as TypeScript with an emphasis on React and serverless Node.js on AWS. Furthermore, experience in deploying serverless architectures using AWS SAM, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation would be highly advantageous.

On a day to day, you'll:

• Manage and maintain a portfolio of cloud native applications throughout various phases of their lifecycle

• Lead by example and embody good DevSecOps engineering practices

• Have experience usingTypescript, NodeJS, and React as a must for development and troubleshooting

• Use Jira, Confluence and ITSM tools to track and manage project requirements and documentation.

• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for software systems using tools such as GitHub Actions, CodeBuild/CodePipeline, and Bitrise

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement software solutions that meet customer needs

• Participate in an on-call rotation to provide support for production systems outside of business hours

• Monitor and troubleshoot production systems, identifying and resolving issues proactively

• Ensure governance compliance and adherence to best practices.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in software development roles

• Proficiency in TypeScript/NodeJS development, or strong equivalent experience in another general purpose programming language (Python/Java/C#)

• Knowledge of cloud computing platforms such as AWS and Azure

• Working understanding of AzureAD/EntraID and AWS Cognito OAuth is highly favourable

• Familiarity with containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes

• Experience with serverless API development and Infrastructure as Code

• Background in managing complex systems
