Software Engineer - Mobile Team

LIFELENZ is a rapidly growing team of 80+ mathematicians, engineers, designers, computer scientists, strategists and client success experts based in the U.S., Canada, Australia, and UK building a machine learning-based, advanced analytics workforce and human capital management platform. We have built and maintained over 20+ platforms over a 19-year period. We have won many awards for client delivery and collectively contributed to over 100+ global patents for complex software platforms.  In the past 2 years, the business has been funded over $20M USD as we deliver metrics that will unlock our Series B funding in early Q1 2026, providing us with significant capital to accelerate our growth & expansion across verticals and geographies while further driving our dominance in the US QSR Top Brands market.

LIFELENZ is an automated workforce and human capital management platform solving challenges related to onboarding, sales & labour forecasting, scheduling & time clock/keeping, insights & reporting and labour law compliance.  It uses machine learning to automatically self-tune and self-manage models to a particular store with hyper-local attributes.  The technology approach and analytic methodologies used enable the distribution across large-scale centralized ownership and highly fragmented franchised ownership companies.

Purpose

We're in the process of re-imagining our mobile application--transforming it into an immersive, intuitive experience that empowers employees, unlocks data insights, and empowers users. This is not just an upgrade; it's a rethink of how mobile can drive impact.

As a Mobile Engineer, you'll work closely with our existing mobile team and designers to bring this vision to life. You'll implement new features that enable employee empowerment and actionable insights, while ensuring a consistent, elegant experience across both Android and iOS platforms.

We're looking for a self-starter who thrives on exploring new technologies and wants to help adopt and champion modern frameworks that push mobile development forward.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the existing mobile team and designers to reimagine the LIFELENZ mobile experience, making it immersive and intuitive.

• Implement new features that enable employee empowerment, deliver data insights, and provide users with meaningful choices.


• Work across Android and iOS platforms to drive a consistent, unified experience across both codebases.


• Explore and adopt emerging technologies (e.g., Flutter, Kotlin Multiplatform, SwiftUI, Jetpack Compose) and help champion their adoption within the team.


• Write and review production-grade code in Swift, Kotlin, and cross-platform frameworks, ensuring scalability and performance for a global user base.


• Collaborate with UX/UI designers, business analysts, architects, and QA to clarify requirements, manage scope changes, and resolve issues.


• Participate actively in an agile development process, moving across projects and features as priorities evolve.


• Conduct unit and automated testing, performance profiling, and optimisation to deliver high-quality mobile applications.


• Manage app store deployments, certificates, and provisioning profiles for iOS and Android.


• Contribute to continuous improvement of development practices, tools, and processes within the mobile team.

Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications

Mobile Development Expertise

• 2+ years of hands-on experience building feature-rich mobile applications with API-driven backends (JSON/XML).


• Strong proficiency in Swift (iOS) and/or Kotlin (Android), with a solid understanding of MVVM architecture, async/multi-threaded programming, and application lifecycle for both platforms.


• Skilled in designing responsive UIs using SwiftUI/UIKit and Jetpack Compose/XML, ensuring a consistent experience across multiple screen sizes.

Cross-Platform & Emerging Tech

• Keen interest in new and emerging mobile UI technologies and frameworks such as Flutter, Kotlin Multiplatform, React Native, Ionic, MAUI/Xamarin, and others.


• Ability to evaluate, adopt, and champion modern frameworks to drive innovation and improve development velocity.

Quality & Performance

• Experience with unit and automated testing frameworks, continuous integration, and performance profiling using platform-specific tools.


• Strong understanding of app optimization techniques for speed, memory, and responsiveness.

Collaboration & Agile Delivery

• Demonstrated ability to work in small/medium agile teams, collaborating with designers, architects, product managers, and QA to clarify requirements and deliver high-quality features.


• Familiarity with Agile tools (Linear, Coda) and version control systems (Git).

Deployment & Operations

• Experience managing certificates, provisioning profiles, and deploying apps to App Store and Google Play.


• Knowledge of change management and release processes in a product-based environment.

Additional Skills (Preferred)

• Exposure to offline storage, threading, and performance tuning.


• Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., Postgres) and SQL.


• Experience with other frameworks (Rails, React) and backend development is a plus.
