Software Engineer Team Lead

💼 The Role

We're seeking an experienced Software Engineer to lead a team of up to 6 engineers while contributing to hands-on development. You’ll help set the technical direction, guide system architecture, and drive the delivery of complex features on our SaaS platform. You’ll mentor other engineers, ensure code quality, evolve our engineering practices, and help shape the culture of a team building software used by exploration and drilling teams every day.

⚡ What You’ll Do

• Lead the design and delivery of high-performance features for our customers

• Architect scalable backend services, APIs and data models to process operational drilling data

• Set technical standards and drive best practices across the codebase, tools, and pipelines

• Guide and mentor a team of Software Engineers, building capability and fostering a growth-oriented culture

• Collaborate closely with product and design to deliver seamless end-to-end solutions

🧠 Qualifications and Fit

• 5+ years of professional software development experience, including 2+ years in a technical leadership role

• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and/or Python and their relevant web frameworks

• Experience dealing with relational databases at scale (Postgres/Mysql)

• Experience with agile development methodologies and modern software practices

• Background in B2B SaaS

• Familiarity with DevOps practices and cloud platforms

• Proven track record of building and scaling software products

• Excellent communication skills and ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

• Experience with team management, including hiring, performance reviews, and career development

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
