Solicitor - Room for Advancement

The Position

We are seeking a solicitor or law graduate to join our dedicated Commercial Litigation team in our Mackay office (however there is scope for you to also work from our Brisbane office) in either a full-time role or with flexible working arrangements available.  Whilst you will be predominantly working within Commercial Litigation with a focus on building and construction disputes, contract disputes, debt collection, resumptions, planning and environment matters, and real estate law, you may also be required to work across the following departments: Business Law and Estate Planning and Commercial and Property.

Your duties will include:

• liaising with clients either in person conference or via telephone to obtain instructions and information; 
• assisting with day-to-day file management and running own files; 
• drafting legal documents including pre-court, court and substantive correspondence; 
• conducting legal research; 
• liaising with multidisciplinary teams including barristers and experts; and 
• other tasks as may be required from time to time. 

To be considered in this role you should have:

• a current Qld Practicing Certificate, or working towards admission in the case of law graduates;
• 1-3 years post admission experience preferred;
• a litigation background and court experience;
• an understanding of Qld legislation and processes pertaining to commercial litigation matters; 
• strong technical ability;
• superior written and verbal communication skills and high level of attention to detail; and 
• the ability and drive to achieve targets.
