Job Description - Solutions Engineer

We’re now looking for a Solutions Engineer to join our Acquisition team, acting as the technical and solution design lead throughout the sales cycle.

About the Role & Team

As Solutions Engineer, you’ll design and deliver high-quality, tailored Compass demos for prospective schools, translating complex requirements into clear, compelling solutions.

This is a highly customer-facing role that blends technical fluency with strong communication and a deep understanding of school operations. You’ll set the standard for demo quality, support RFP responses and sales tooling, and enable Sales to confidently position Compass while ensuring a smooth handover from sales to implementation.

What you’ll do:

Demo Motion & Quality

  • Design and deliver high-quality, tailored Compass demos for prospective schools.
  • Own demo standards, frameworks and best practices across the sales cycle.
  • Maintain demo environments that reflect each school’s structure and workflows.

RFP & Tooling Management

  • Lead technical RFP and RFI responses, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Own and optimise demo and RFP tooling (e.g. Vendict, Consensus).
  • Keep solution content current and aligned to Compass product capabilities.

Sales Team Enablement

  • Enable Sales with technical guidance, discovery tools and solution assets.
  • Support confident positioning of Compass across different school types.
  • Improve sales-to-implementation handover through clear scoping and processes.

About You

You’re a confident, customer-facing solutions professional who knows how to translate technical capability into clear value.

You bring:

  • Proven experience in solutions engineering, pre-sales consulting or technical sales, ideally within SaaS, EdTech or enterprise software.
  • Strong demo capability, with the ability to clearly articulate technical solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Solid technical fluency across software platforms, APIs, integrations and data security concepts.
  • Familiarity with the education sector, particularly K-12 operations (highly regarded).
  • Experience working cross-functionally in fast-paced, growth environments.
