About the Role

We are seeking a Sous Chef , for a Permanent opportunity in The Collaroy Centre, NSW

The purpose of this role is to support the Executive Chef in overall operation of the kitchen by positive role modelling, supervising and training all catering staff to work in accordance with all TSA policies and procedures, legislative and accreditation obligations relating to food preparation, handling and catering to demonstrate excellence in customer service and assist in establishing the facility as a preferred provider

Key Responsibilities:

You will be successful in this role if you can:

  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef and Food Safety Manager to develop diverse menus that adhere to all food safety regulations.

  • Oversee kitchen operations, create efficient work schedules, identify and provide training needs for auxiliary staff. Maintain a clean and organized environment that fosters teamwork and excellence.

  • Prepare and cook high-quality dishes within set timeframes, ensuring they meet all policy and legislative requirements. Additionally, manage food orders and handle other general catering and kitchen tasks, particularly during the Executive Chef's absence.

  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, participating in team activities and supporting fellow staff members.

Qualifications and Experience: 

Qualifications:

  • Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent).

  • Food Safety Accreditation.

  • Computer skills: basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, familiarity with Online Ordering Systems and knowledge of Online Platforms for Compliance and Training.

Experiences:

  • 5+ years' culinary experience.

  • Creative problem-solving with Exceptional planning, organization skills.

  • Thrives in fast-paced environment.

  • Strong communication (written & verbal).

  • Team player.

Requirements of the Role:

  • A national police record check is required.
