About Us:
Bamboo Catering, is seeking a passionate and skilled Sous Chef to join our dynamic team. With a commitment to excellence in corporate catering and a reputation for creating unforgettable events, and dining experiences, Bamboo Catering is a sets the stage for culinary creativity, innovation, and memorable dining.
We provide full service catering to high end Perth Corporate & Private clients for every style of celebration or gathering - providing fine dining dinners, boardroom lunches, cocktail functions & grazing events through to BBQ's and large scale corporate events.
We also produce daily a corporate catering delivery range to selected Perth CBD clients, including cold & hot buffet lunches, sandwiches & salads, morning & afternoon teas.
As our Sous Chef, you'll play a vital role in conducting our kitchen brigade, ensuring the seamless production of daily orders, preparing for events & execution of services at off-site venues. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leadership: Effectively manage the kitchen team in the absence of the Executive Chef, providing guidance, support, and leadership.
- Culinary Excellence: Prepare food for events to meet specific business requirements and the highest standards of quality.
- Team Collaboration: Direct the food preparation process, delegate tasks, and supervise kitchen staff to meet event requirements.
- Safety & Hygiene: Maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen environment, upholding food safety practices.
- Menu Innovation: Contribute to the creation of new menus, write recipes, and implement them in line with Bamboo Catering's culinary style.
- Inventory Management: Assist in determining food inventory needs, stocking, and ordering, ensuring efficient management of goods.
- Team Development: Supervise, motivate, and collaborate with chefs of all levels, fostering a cohesive and skilled kitchen team.
- Health & Safety: Uphold health and safety practices and food hygiene standards for a secure and clean kitchen environment.

Requirements:
- Minimum 5 Years experience in a similar high-end events, catering, banqueting, functions or hotel environment.
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or jnr sous-chef or similar role
- Strong knowledge of modern European style cooking & presentations.
- Culinary qualifications and a passion for creative cuisine
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Commitment to safety and food hygiene standards
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic kitchen environment
