The position of Sous Chef presents a unique opportunity to play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in the day-to-day management of the kitchen operations. Responsibilities include overseeing inventory, ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene protocols, and contributing to the ongoing development of the team. Job Description:

  1. Previous Experience: A demonstrated track record of success as a Sous Chef or in a similar culinary leadership role, showcasing proficiency in kitchen management and operations.
    Culinary Expertise: Proficiency in a wide range of culinary techniques, cuisines, cooking methods, and flavour profiles, enabling the creation of diverse dishes to meet client needs.
  2. Operational Management: Proven ability to effectively manage high-volume kitchen operations, including control of food and labor costs, as well as inventory management to ensure optimal efficiency and profitability.
  3. Communication and Teamwork: Exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a dynamic team environment, fostering cohesion and collaboration among kitchen staff.
  4. Food Safety Compliance: Comprehensive knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations, with a commitment to upholding the highest standards of hygiene and ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements.
  5. Certifications: Possession of a Certificate 3 in Commercial Cookery is essential, demonstrating foundational knowledge and skills. Additional certifications in food safety, or related areas are considered advantageous and reflect a commitment to ongoing professional development.
  6. Transportation: A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required, ensuring the ability to commute to various event locations as needed.
