AEMO at the Heart of Energy
AEMO is Australia’s independent energy system and market operator and system planner. AEMO’s purpose is to ensure safe, reliable and affordable energy today, and enable the energy transition for the benefit of all Australians. Australian governments are now committed to a net zero economy for Australia by 2050 and our vision is to enable this. We have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to co-design the future of our energy systems, and our core values revolve around character, commitment, and connection. Join us as we contribute to this significant transition in the energy sector.
About the role
As the nation's energy market operator, we take our cyber security responsibilities very seriously. The cyber security team's vision is that AEMO has an embedded cyber safety culture that everyone understands, supports and lives day-to-day. AEMO’s systems and processes are designed and operated so that the easy way to do things is the secure way. AEMO is a recognised leader and exemplar of effective cyber security within the energy sector domestically and internationally. The Australian energy sector is prepared for and resilient to foreseeable cyber threats.
In this role you will lead work to identify, assess and communicate emerging cyber security resilience risks affecting the Australian energy sector. You will support the Manager Energy Market Cyber Coordination in delivering relevant energy market sector initiatives and provide robust analysis and advice on regulatory, technical and operational approaches for risk mitigation and management. To achieve this you will work with Energy market participants, the broader Australian critical infrastructure sector, government agencies and internal AEMO stakeholders to identify sector requirements, operating patterns, dependencies and modes of operation.
This is a 24-month Fixed Term Contract and its location is flexible.
Please note that to be eligible for this role you require Australian citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a national security clearance.
