ABOUT US

The Salvation Army is a Christian movement and one of Australia's largest and most-loved charities.  We believe in doing good that transforms lives and futures for the better.  It is this belief which drives us to find new ways and places where we can make a difference. From times of personal crisis to moments of national grief, we are always here — providing support, safety, community, and opportunity.

Why this role matters

When a woman arrives at Graceville, she’s often stepping out of fear and into uncertainty. This role is about being the calm, steady presence who helps her feel safe, believed and supported. As a Specialist Family Violence Practitioner, you’ll walk alongside women as they rebuild their sense of safety, dignity and possibility. Your compassion, steadiness and advocacy can change the direction of someone’s life at a moment when they need it most.

About the role

Graceville Women’s Centre provides crisis accommodation and wraparound support to women experiencing family and domestic violence, homelessness and other crises. In this role, you’ll offer trauma-informed case management, crisis response and practical assistance to women (with or without children) who are navigating immediate safety concerns and major life transitions.

You’ll be part of a warm, values-driven team who show up for each other and for the women we serve. Your days may include crisis intake, safety planning, emotional support, advocacy, and helping women connect with services that can walk with them beyond crisis.

This permanent part-time position (22.5 hours per week) is based at Graceville Women’s Centre in Perth and reports to the Team Leader. Pay is in accordance with a SCHADS Level 5.1.
