About the role
Barwon Health is seeking a Spiritual Care Practitioner to lead the provision of spiritual care across our residential aged care facilities. Reporting to the Director of Psychology within Allied Health the practitioner manages and delivers spiritual care to residents, families, and staff in partnership with the University Hospital Geelong Spiritual Care team.
The practitioner provides and models person-centred spiritual care within the multidisciplinary team; supervises Spiritual Care Practitioners; oversees referral, consent, and documentation processes; develops policy and procedure for the service; and coordinates external faith and spiritual community representatives to meet the diverse needs of residents. The role operates within the scope of spiritual care practice as defined by the Spiritual Care Australia Capabilities Framework, the SCA Code of Conduct, and the National Guidelines for Spiritual Care in Aged Care, and contributes to the facilities’ obligations under the Aged Care Quality Standards.
