SQL DBA Architect - AZURE (Sydney or Melbourne Hybrid)

Australian Citizen - Baseline/NV1 or NV2 clearance required!

Our client is seeking top-tier talent to join their team, leveraging deep expertise and extensive experience to drive customer adoption of AI and implement cutting-edge Azure solutions for the entire machine learning lifecycle. Experience Required:
13+ years of IT experience and minimum of 5+ years of experience on Azure Database Migrations with technically guided, managed and governed team experience.

Primary Skills:

• Proficient in understanding customer database landscapes using SQL Server
• Expertise in configuring SQL Server High Availability/Disaster Recovery (FCI, AG) in Azure with multi-subnet and multi-region setups, and Availability sets
• Skilled in configuring and managing security, policies, resource governance, and Azure Key Vault
• Experience migrating SQL Server from on-premises to Azure Cloud utilizing tools such as DMA, DMS, Azure Data Studio, log shipping, backup and restore, among other methods
• Collaborate with internal teams, client stakeholders, and project managers to comprehend migration requirements and deliver appropriate solutions
• Lead cloud solutioning activities for Azure, particularly for large and complex migrations
• Plan storage and capacity management, create logical models, and build physical models
• Proficient in installing and configuring SQL Server versions from 200x to 2022
• Hands-on experience in troubleshooting Windows and SQL server issues

Secondary Skills:

• Design, implement, and manage database systems for performance and reliability in Azure
• Upgrade SQL Server from legacy versions to the latest versions in Azure, both on-premises and cloud
• Proficient in T-SQL scripting and PowerShell scripting
• Strong understanding of database performance using various tools
• Ensure compliance with client requirements and expectations
• Experience with DBA migrations on SQL, Windows, and Linux platforms

Certifications (Preferred):

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Associate
• DP-300: Administering Microsoft Azure SQL Solutions
• AZ-305: Designing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions
