About the role
This is a senior leadership role with end-to-end ownership of the QLD Retail channel. The State Manager leads a team of Retail Business Consultants (RBCs), delivering state performance against North Star targets while shaping a high-performing, values-led culture that franchisees, brokers, and team members are proud to be part of. You will execute the QLD market representation strategy across retail footprint, broker headcount, and franchise pipeline, oversee key state events, and regularly travel to coach teams, engage franchisees, and represent the Retail channel at state and national forums.
Job Description
Retail Network Growth
Own execution of the QLD Market Representation Strategy - driving net store count growth through renewal, retention, and greenfield expansion
Attract, engage, and guide franchise candidates through the full application journey - cashflow modelling, business planning, site selection, and approval
Influence outcomes across the full franchise lifecycle - recruitment, onboarding, renewal, and succession
Activate Broker Pathways opportunities, supporting brokers to transition across channels aligned to their goals
Drive quality execution of franchise transactions, including delivery to Franchise Agreement timelines and store standards (refit/refresh).
RBC Team Leadership
Lead, coach, and develop the QLD RBC team - fostering accountability, commercial acumen, and high network engagement
Coach RBCs to be effective business partners - supporting franchisees with business planning, pipeline management, sales leadership, marketing, and customer excellence
Embed consistent operating cadences across the state, with regular documented in-person and virtual engagements.
Channel Performance & KPI Delivery
Own delivery against North Star Lodgement and Settlement targets for QLD Retail
Drive outperformance across all Retail KPIs - customer excellence, store standards, operational benchmarks, and Franchise Agreement outcomes
Track and analyse state performance metrics to identify and execute targeted interventions
Culture, Engagement & State Events
Own the culture of the QLD Retail channel - building an environment where franchisees, brokers, and team members feel connected, valued, and motivated
Design and deliver a deliberate state engagement calendar - recognition, cultural touchpoints, and community-building aligned to Lendi Group values
Own and execute the QLD events program, including:
Lender engagement events - activations between franchisees/brokers and key lending partners
Aussie national and state conferences - coordination, content contribution, and franchisee/broker mobilisation
State summits and offsites - agenda design and execution of annual and quarterly leadership events
Represent QLD Retail at national forums; build intentional peer-to-peer networks within the franchisee community.
Change Leadership & Initiative Adoption
Drive adoption of strategic initiatives and product releases - Aussie App, Aussie Homes, Aussie Conveyancing, Aussie Bridge, and Aussie Products
Partner with GM Aussie Retail, GTM leads, ARMs, and central stakeholders on new tools, systems, and process improvements.
Broker Headcount Growth
Lead the QLD Retail broker headcount growth strategy
Support RBCs in monitoring Franchise Agreement compliance and capacity planning
Partner with Network Development and Talent Acquisition to deliver sustainable broker recruitment and retention strategies.
Strategic Priorities & Priority Support
Lead and contribute to state and national strategic initiatives as required by the GM Aussie Retail
Provide \"priority support\" to strategic stores in consultation with the GM, partnering with the RBC to accelerate growth outcomes.
Qualifications
7+ years in sales leadership and/or franchise management, ideally within financial services, fintech, or complex retail services
Proven track record leading distributed field teams in a franchise or multi-site environment
Demonstrated ability to drive state-level growth through market expansion, strategic recruitment, and performance management
Strong commercial acumen - financial modelling, business planning, and franchise lifecycle management
Deep understanding of franchise operations, regulatory compliance, and governance
Experience owning and delivering large-scale events, conferences, and engagement programs
A natural culture leader - proven ability to build high-performance, values-led environments
Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills across all levels
Experience embedding strategic initiatives in complex, fast-moving environments
Mortgage broking or retail financial services experience highly desirable
Ability to work autonomously and drive outcomes in an agile environment.
