Our client is a global leader in warehousing, storage, distribution and waste management. They are looking for an experienced State Manager to join their team based in Altona.
The purpose of this role is to lead the VIC warehousing teams to deliver business objectives and achieve KPI’s in accordance with the business plan and Company policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
The State Manager is responsible for:
- Leading teams to deliver business objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Monitoring state performance and implementing corrective action as required to ensure operational objectives are met.
- Operational and financial performance of warehousing sites in VIC.
- Preparing, monitoring and reviewing reports including revenue, costs, and P&Ls to ensure sites remain on track to meet financial objectives. Taking corrective actions as required.
- Ensuring all practices and operations are performed as per company policies, procedures and legislative/industry requirements.
- Ensuring all staff are trained to an appropriate standard and hold necessary licenses and certificates to fulfil their role.
- Monitoring and manage performance of staff.
- Taking responsibility for workplace health and safety issues of workplaces (including risk assessments) in consultation with relevant internal stakeholders
- Ensuring employees hold all necessary licences, certificates of competency and are adequately trained to carry out their work safely, efficiently, and effectively
- Ensuring compliance with Company policy and legislative requirements including WH&S, fatigue management, NHVAS & or BFM standards and ISO requirements
- Ensuring the site Emergency Response Plan (ERP) is followed in the area of responsibility
- Additional duties as required and as directed by management
In order to be successful in this role you will have:
- 5 years’ management experience in a 3PL transport/ warehousing environment
- Understanding of operational processes, safety and quality systems, and the implementation of continuous improvement processes
- Demonstrated ability leading teams to deliver business objectives and key performance indicators (KPI’s)
- High level of negotiation skills and focus on meeting customer requirements.
- Strong people management and leadership skills, with a team-oriented approach.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare and review financial reports (revenue, costs, P&Ls) to ensure that financial objectives are met.
- Understanding of HACCP principles
