Job Description - State Sales Manager

At the heart of our service offering are our people and our promise to deliver a no better logistics experience. Forming part of the wider FMH Group, efm Logistics is leading as the largest 4PL provider in Australia & NZ, meaning we do much more than just ship goods. We design, build, manage and provide integrated, optimised supply chain solutions.

An exceptional opportunity has opened for a high‑impact sales leader to help shape efm’s growth as State Sales Manager – Victoria.

In this influential role, you’ll drive the strategy and execution of new business acquisition while delivering sustainable, profitable growth across the state. You’ll also build, coach and lead a high-performing sales team—setting direction, lifting capability and driving consistent commercial outcomes.

The role will be based at efm’s head office in Moorabbin, and interstate travel from time to time will be required.

Role responsibilities will include the following:

  • Deliver sustainable sales performance by achieving regional sales revenue and gross profit targets, with a strong focus on margin quality and long‑term growth.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities by understanding customer supply chain challenges and proactively positioning efm solutions that add measurable value to their businesses.
  • Build and manage a strong new‑business pipeline, ensuring opportunities are commercially viable, operationally serviceable, and aligned to efm’s strategic objectives.
  • Establish and maintain strong industry relationships with key stakeholders, prospects, and partners to drive brand presence, referrals, and long‑term customer partnerships.
  • Recruit, develop, and lead a high‑performing sales team, providing clear direction, coaching, and accountability to consistently achieve new business targets.
  • Implement and uphold effective sales and business processes, contributing to the development and ongoing improvement of operating procedures, systems, and controls.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of deliverables, including forecasting, reporting, proposals, and project milestones, to support informed decision‑making and operational excellence.

What we’re looking for:

  • Previous experience within the supply chain, transport or logistics industry (min. 5 years experience within the industry)
  • Proven experience developing, coaching and leading a sales team (min. 2 years in a leadership / management role, with sales experience)
  • Experience within a fast-paced and complex business environment
  • Solid track record of closing deals, managing complex sales processes, and exceeding targets.
  • Leadership capabilities and ability to work autonomously and get involved with all aspects of the business
  • Self-motivated and a natural drive to be your best and reap the rewards
  • Problem-solving skills – willing to challenge the status quo
  • Analytical with a strong commercial acumen
  • Confident communicator – written and verbal

Why should you join efm Logistics?

  • We set you up for success. You will be provided a structured induction including role specific training, ensuring you have sound knowledge of your role, as well as an understanding of the broader departments that create efm.
  • Investment in you and your career development. Encounter opportunities to expand your skillset and as we expand and achieve further scale, there is plenty of room for growth.
  • Tools of the trade provided to support your day-to-day.
  • An energetic and supportive culture, where we challenge each other to do it better.
  • An opportunity to be part of an industry leader.
  • We take the time to connect through company functions and team building activities.
  • Modern office space and technology.
  • A chance to give back to the community. Partner with 2 charities, volunteering time to make a difference and contribute to the positive impact they are having both locally and internationally.
