About our team

With roots in the founding families of Australia’s malt industry, Barrett Burston Malting Co. (BBM) has been delivering premium malted barley for customers for more than 150 years. We source top-grade barley from farms all across Australia and work directly with brewers & distillers to ensure that our malt matches both the required quality and flavour profile so they can continue to craft the best beers and whisky’s. Our head office and primary malting operations are located in Victoria – home to some of Australia's finest malting barley crops. With operations in Western Australia, Queensland and New Zealand, we combine tradition and experience with innovation for the brewing and distilling sector.

About the role

BBM is currently seeking an experienced, Sales Manager (NSW, ACT, SA) to join us on a full time basis and will be located in Sydney

Reporting to the Barrett Burston Director of Sales and Marketing, the Sales Manager will maintain and develop sales for the Cryer Malt & Barrett Burston business in NSW, ACT and SA. 

The responsibilities will also include:

  • Relationship building and determining a sales strategy with each customer to fulfil their needs to the best of our ability. 
  • Achieve or exceed territory sales and new customer growth targets
  • Reporting and analysing sales, and market intel
  • Managing travel & a budget to cover maximum amount of territory, ensuring face time with customers, festival attendance, including evening, weekends/non-typical office hours 
  • Being able to work remotely, but still be a part of a team with a common goal. Supporting other sales team members, being engaged with sales team activities, group discussions, meetings etc. 

About your experience

The successful candidate will have 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role and will also demonstrate:

  • A structured approach that ensures planning and follow-up
  • Strong relationship management skills
  • The ability to be a self-starter and to work autonomously as well as part of the team
  • Ability to manage a diverse range of products.
  • Extensive Microsoft package knowledge.
  • Experience with Microsoft D365 
  • Technical brewing or malting knowledge or experience. (Desirable but not necessary)
