About the role: 

As the State Sales Manager QLD/WA, you will play a crucial role in driving the sales strategy and execution whilst leading and inspiring a team of Business Develop Managers! You will develop and mentor employees, providing day-to-day guidance to create high levels of employee engagement and satisfaction, driving a growth-mindset culture within the team. You will also be responsible for developing key relationships with Aggregators and brokers, and achieving revenue targets. Your leadership and strategic thinking will be instrumental in expanding our market presence and increasing our sales growth.

Additionally, you will be responsible for:

  • Contributing to company revenue by implementing sales strategies that achieve individual, team business sales and growth target KPIs
  • Targeting and assessing potential partners, perform competitive research and evaluate proposed deals/partnerships
  • Growing active broker base and increase broker penetration.
  • Reviewing existing customer portfolios and recommend strategies for increasing growth
  • Sourcing product opportunities across allocated sectors or regions
  • Working with the Chief Commercial Officer to create strategies to generate sales in new and existing business
  • Using market intelligence and trends to develop new products, services, and solutions
  • Developing new product innovation and marketing campaigns/initiatives in conjunction with Marketing and Product team/s
  • Working with the Chief Sales Officer to develop and implement an annual sales plan for brokers
  • Ensuring adherence to Bluestone’s credit and risk management frameworks
  • Maintaining strong working relationships with internal stakeholders

Note this role is 100% remote/off-site-working and will service a team of BDMs and clients across Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Perth locations. The ideal candidate will be based either in Brisbane or the Gold Coast and will travel to WA approximately every 2-3 months or as required.

About you:

You’ll possess a minimum of 8-10 years experience in a similar role within the mortgages industry (non-banking preferred!) You are self-reliant and results-driven with a strong understanding of current mortgage registration as well as a focus on drivers of conversion rates and settlements. You have a passion for motivating, coaching, and developing your team to create a high-performance culture and have the ability to perform to a high standard under pressure. You will also have:

  • Previous state or regional management experience
  • Previous preparation and implementation of budget forecast sales and  budget plans
  • Prior participation in designing organisational sales strategies
  • Proven sales ability including outstanding negotiation skills, persuasive ability, excellent communication skills, and the ability to interact at a strategic level.
