Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers is growing in the WA region, and we're adding a Strategic Accounts Manager to the team. 

Our Account Managers are the front line of our business, and are directly responsible for the generation of millions of dollars in gross auction proceeds every year.  As we grow around the world, there are endless opportunities for strong salespeople to advance their careers – we’ve shown this over and over throughout our 65 years in business.

The Opportunity:

In this role, you will be responsible for revenue production and quota attainment through sourcing and executing of Strategic Sales into the secondary markets, as well as sourcing and providing subject matter expertise for sales opportunities.  Your focus will be primarily in be in building the WA business and reporting directly to the Regional Sales Manager. 

This role will include; 

  • Prepare and update market data relative to consumption, pricing, and competitors.
  • Develop advantageous relationships with distributors and end user customers at the executive and purchasing levels.
  • Attend / participate in sales / forecast review meetings.
  • Communicate market intelligence. 
  • Promote the company’s brand in the marketplace; participate in industry meetings and networking opportunities.
  • Source new opportunities for the sale of equipment.
  • Execute on leads for selling equipment for our existing customers and inbound sellers
  • Support Operations efforts to attract and recruit potential bidders for marketplace listings.
  • Support sales efforts through development of market intelligence and other collateral
  • Monitor industry and market trends to gain insights and effectively set customer expectations.
  • Develop and manage risk mitigation plans to maximize results.
  • Develop and leverage industry relationships to create a competitive advantage for Ritchie Bros. 

Here’s what you bring:

  • Past experience in equipment sales and/or asset disposition, including online auctions, is a plus
  • Existing customer relationships within the transport, mining & civil sectors
  • Strong written, oral and presentation skills 
  • Ability to develop relationships at all levels
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong business acumen and a sense of urgency
  • A strong work ethic, without sacrificing your sense of humor or your ability to have fun on the job
  • Relevant business qualifications and leadership skills 
  • Proven consistent track record of meeting / exceeding sales targets

It's important to note that: 

  • You'll be required to maintain a valid driver's license and a valid passport for this role
  • Travel requirements for this role include being away from home up to 5-10 nights per month
