Details: Expressions of Interest (EOI) are sought for the Strategic HR Officer position at ACT Courts and Tribunal.
About the position:
The Strategic HR Officer will manage the ACTCT’s HR mailbox and provide high level advice to employees, senior management, and the executive in the areas of recruitment and selection, work health and safety, onboarding and offboarding, learning and development, reporting and other HR matters.
The Strategic HR Officer is responsible for managing the ACTCT mental health and wellbeing program, which involves preparing and sending out communications to ACTCT staff, Judicial Officers, and Tribunal Members, co-ordinating and booking specialised training for ACTCT staff and preparing quarterly usage data for the Chief Executive Officer.
The Strategic HR Officer is responsible for carrying out monthly comparisons against ACTCT’s position occupancy reports and budget, reviewing and actioning excess annual leave and excess flextime balances, and completing all position management requests for ACTCT.
The Strategic HR Officer is responsible for preparing written material on HR matters, including correspondence, briefs, policies, procedures and factsheets, and ensuring HR related content on the ACTCT’s intranet is accurate and up to date. In addition, the role supports the broader team with the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
The occupant of the position will liaise with JACS People and Workplace Strategy who provide advice on complex HR matters. The position may, from time to time, liaise with members of the judiciary or tribunal on less complex HR matters.

Notes: This is a temporary position available immediately for six months with the possibility of extension up to 12 months and/or permanency. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Hybrid working arrangements are available for this position.
