We are looking for a new Strategy, Planning & Reporting Analyst to join our team, based at our Lenah Valley office. This is an exciting opportunity to help drive the company strategy at TasNetworks and support the delivery of safe and reliable energy to Tasmanians at the lowest possible prices.

As a Strategy, Planning & Reporting Analyst, you will:

  • Work closely with leaders across the business to prepare periodic performance reports for internal and external audiences, such as monthly performance reports for executive and Board and quarterly and half-yearly reports for Shareholding Ministers

  • Support annual business planning processes through the development and analysis of performance modelling and forecasting to help to distil competing priorities

  • Support the development and reporting of key performance measures and contemporary business metrics, including performance drivers

  • Contribute to the development of strategic workshop materials and synthesise outputs into meaningful action plans.

About the team

The Strategy and Planning team helps our business leaders set the strategic direction of TasNetworks and keep us on track to successfully deliver our company purpose – powering a bright future to deliver safe and sustainable essential services while maximising value for all of Tasmania.

We have a unique opportunity to work with all business groups across TasNetworks and coordinate how we will achieve the ‘big picture’ outcomes we are working towards. We bring stakeholders together to collaborate, and help decision-makers make informed strategic choices.

We are a small, close-knit team that enjoys working together and supporting each other.

About you

We’d love to hear about:

  • Your experience working in strategy, planning, and reporting, particularly enterprise performance reporting and forecasting for executive and Board and external audiences, including Shareholding Ministers

  • Your financial modelling and quantitative analysis capabilities

  • Your experience in modernising reporting processes and design

  • Your approach to interpreting information from multiple sources and translating it into actionable insights for decision-makers

  • How you engage, collaborate, and communicate with your colleagues and stakeholders to influence change and deliver outcomes

  • How you utilise your strong organisational skills to manage competing priorities and deliver quality outcomes

  • Your tertiary qualifications in business, commerce, or economics, or significant experience in a similar role with a medium to large organisation.

Previous experience in the utilities/energy industry or regulated environment would be beneficial (but not essential).

What's on offer

This is a Permanent full-time opportunity based out of our Hobart, offering an attractive remuneration and benefits package.

At TasNetworks we want to power a bright future for our people, our community and our customers. We offer a supportive work environment where safety is at the heart of everything we do.

As an “employer of choice” we offer excellent employee benefits including:

  • 20 days of annual leave per year + an additional 3 days of leave between Christmas and New Year

  • Electricity discount of 16.66%

  • Free onsite car parking

  • 17.5% leave loading (paid annually)

  • Career development - we have our own RTO and can create personalised career pathways in both trade and leadership

  • Onsite gyms (plus an annual health and wellbeing rebate)

  • All the tools and equipment you'll need to be successful
