Job Description - Stream Lead - Data Platform & Governance
Contract Type: Fixed Term (6 Months) | Melbourne About the Role We are looking for a hands-on Stream Lead to coordinate and actively contribute to the technical delivery of a data platform modernisation and governance program. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be embedded in the delivery team helping to plan, track, and unblock work across two technical workstreams. You will need practical, working knowledge of the tools and platforms in scope. What You'll Be DeliveringYou will support and coordinate delivery across the following workstreams including
Integrating a Data Quality tool with core data sources (Redshift / Databricks) for real-time validation and monitoring
Implementing automated data audit controls with detailed logging and automated reporting across Tableau, Power BI, Redshift, Databricks, Airflow, and S3
Platform Upgrades in Redshift and Databricks
Tool Enhancements including Tableau Blue-green deployment, Airflow migration and other changes involving PowerBI and DBT
What You'll Be Doing
Maintaining a clear view of tasks, dependencies, and progress across all workstreams and feeding status updates to the Project Manager
Running day-to-day delivery rituals including stand-ups, planning sessions, and backlog grooming
Actively managing technical delivery and associated testing
Identifying risks and issues early and working with the team to resolve them, escalating to the Project Manager where needed
Coordinating across engineering, data, and security teams to ensure work is sequenced correctly and dependencies are managed
Producing clear, concise status updates and supporting the Project Manager with reporting to stakeholders
Ensuring delivered work is properly documented with runbooks and handover materials
What We're Looking ForEssential
Hands-on experience working with several of the platforms in scope including Redshift, Databricks, Tableau, Power BI, or Airflow in a delivery, engineering, or technical operations capacity
Practical understanding of data quality, audit logging, access controls, and governance concepts
Experience coordinating technical delivery in an Agile environment including tracking work, managing dependencies, and keeping teams on track
Comfortable working directly in tools and getting into the detail when needed
Good communication skills with the ability to work across technical and non-technical team members
Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple moving pieces simultaneously
Desirable
Experience with AWS services including Redshift, MWAA, EFS, and S3
Familiarity with DBT, Nexus, or Git-based deployment workflows
Experience with data lifecycle management and data governance
