My client is a boutique engineering firm based in Adelaide, South Australia. They specialise in structural engineering and offer a range of services across a variety of sectors, including buildings, power and energy, mining, infrastructure, renewables, temporary works and lifting. As they are in a growth phase and have an enviable pipeline of work, they are looking for an experienced Structural Engineer and dynamic professional leader to help drive this growth by delivering excellence through engineering project delivery.

Your new role

• Lead the Structural Team in collaboration with the Managing Director and the Executive Lead Team.
• Provide lead management and oversight to the Structural Team and inspire and develop the team's skills and capabilities.
• Take the lead role in securing work for the Structural Team to ensure target utilisation is met.
• Support other disciplines in securing work.
• Take a lead role in the discipline workload forecasting and resource allocation.
• Ensure the commercial interests of the clients and the company is safeguarded.
• Take a lead role in the tendering, budgeting, forecasting and take responsibility for the financial performance of the projects.
• Provide concept designs, professional expertise and support, working in direct collaboration with the project design teams and competently implementing the requirements of individual project briefs.
• Perform the role of Design Lead to ensure deliverables are produced to high quality meeting client brief, regulatory requirements and the company quality management system.

What you'll need to succeed

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in structural engineering, demonstrating extensive knowledge and expertise in the field.
• Australian experience is essential.
• Chartered Engineer (Structural) with Engineers Australia is ideal.
• Proven track record of effective team leadership and mentoring, with the ability to inspire and develop team members.
• Strong business acumen with a demonstrated ability to win and manage projects successfully.
• Experience in project delivery function, leading projects from the inception through to the construction and handover phase.
