About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a structural engineer to develop and expand their skills in the steel construction industry.  In this role you will be responsible for implementing structural design solutions for sheds, carports and awnings in both the residential and commercial sectors.

The engineer will be fundamental in driving the design and engineering processes for the organisation and provide engineering support to various outlets located throughout Australia.  You will also work closely with the business owners towards continuous improvement of the engineering design software program and development of automated engineering systems and processes.

Duties

• Engineering calculations and checks for residential, commercial and industrial steel buildings
• Concept design, drafting and detailing of complex steel structures
• Material take-offs and cost estimations
• Provide engineering advice and support to multiple outlets located throughout Australia
• Assist with technical inputs in engineering software programme

Qualifications and Skills

• Degree in civil/structural engineering
• RPEQ registration a must
• 5+ years as a structural engineer
• In depth knowledge of engineering principles, processes and standards for steel structures
• Detailed understanding of Australian Building Standards as well as state and territory legislative requirements
• Experience with AutoCAD and SpaceGass or equivalent
• Excellent communication and time management skills
