A leading global financial institution is seeking a highly experienced Director Structured Credit Solutions to join its Australia-based team. This senior role offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of structured finance, focusing on originating and structuring asset-based and back-leverage financing transactions for institutional clients, with particular emphasis on private credit, real estate debt, and alternative asset managers. What you'll do:

As Director Structured Credit Solutions you will play a pivotal role in expanding the organisation’s structured finance capabilities across Australia. Your day-to-day responsibilities will centre around originating secured financing transactions for institutional clients—ranging from private credit managers to real estate debt investors—while developing strong relationships with key market participants. You will partner with coverage teams and regional structuring specialists to deliver tailored solutions that address client objectives within defined risk parameters. Acting as the primary point of contact for Australian-based clients, you will lead negotiations from initial engagement through execution. Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping product frameworks and market positioning while monitoring industry trends. By collaborating closely with internal teams on transaction approval processes and delivery mechanisms, you will ensure seamless execution of complex deals. Your ability to provide guidance on diverse portfolio structures—including back-leverage facilities, NAV lending, loan-on-loan transactions, equity-backed solutions—will be essential in meeting the evolving needs of sophisticated institutional investors.

  • Originate, structure, and execute secured financing transactions for institutional clients such as private credit managers, real estate debt investors, private equity firms, and alternative asset managers by leveraging your deep product knowledge.

  • Develop and maintain senior-level relationships with key market participants in order to identify new financing opportunities and drive transaction origination within the Australian institutional investment landscape.

  • Partner closely with coverage teams and regional structuring specialists to deliver bespoke financing solutions that meet client objectives while adhering to risk parameters and strategic goals.

  • Lead client discussions from initial engagement through transaction negotiation and commercial structuring, ensuring alignment with both client needs and organisational priorities.

  • Act as a subject matter expert across structured credit and secured financing products by contributing insights to new product development initiatives and broader market strategy.

  • Monitor market trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging opportunities across private credit, real estate debt, and alternative asset classes to inform business decisions.

  • Help shape risk appetite, product framework, and market positioning within structured financing solutions by collaborating with internal stakeholders.

  • Work collaboratively with regional execution teams to ensure efficient transaction approval processes and seamless delivery of complex financing solutions.

  • Provide guidance on portfolio financing structures including back-leverage facilities, loan-on-loan transactions, NAV lending across multiple asset classes, single-asset lending solutions, equity-backed facilities, and structured leverage options for institutional investors.

What you bring:

To excel as Director Structured Credit Solutions you will bring extensive experience gained over more than fifteen years in financial markets or structured finance roles within institutional banking settings. Your proven track record in transaction origination—supported by an established network among Australian-based institutional investors—will enable you to source new opportunities effectively. You possess deep technical expertise in secured financing products spanning structured credit solutions across various asset classes. Your commercial mindset allows you to negotiate favourable terms while managing stakeholder interests throughout deal processes. Operating efficiently in client-facing capacities comes naturally as you leverage internal resources from relationship management through execution teams. A comprehensive understanding of the local private credit ecosystem—including borrower/lender dynamics—combined with strong risk assessment skills ensures successful structuring outcomes. Whether your background lies in bank-based structured finance teams or specialist fund/portfolio/NAV lending roles—or even capital strategy positions within alternative asset management—you are adept at delivering innovative solutions tailored for sophisticated institutional clients.

  • Approximately 15+ years of relevant experience in financial markets or structured finance roles within institutional banking environments is required for this position.Demonstrated capability in originating transactions by developing long-term client relationships within the Australian institutional investment sector is essential.

  • Deep technical knowledge of secured financing products—including structured credit solutions—and proven ability to structure complex deals across multiple asset classes is expected.

  • Commercial acumen combined with strong negotiation skills enables you to manage stakeholder interests effectively throughout transaction lifecycles.

  • Ability to operate efficiently in a client-facing capacity while leveraging resources from relationship management, structuring, and execution teams is vital for success.

  • Established network within Australian-based institutional investment communities—including private credit managers, private equity firms, real estate investors—and understanding their unique financing needs is highly valued.

  • Comprehensive understanding of the Australian private credit ecosystem—including active borrowers/lenders, risk profiles of underlying debt instruments, market trends, regulatory focus—is important for this role.

  • Strong grasp of risk assessment principles as well as credit analysis techniques relevant to transaction structuring considerations is necessary.

  • Relevant backgrounds may include experience in structured credit or secured finance teams at domestic/international banks; NAV/fund/portfolio finance specialists; real estate finance professionals; leveraged finance or syndication experts; capital markets professionals; or senior product originators delivering solutions to institutional investors.

  • Direct experience with NAV lending structures (including portfolio/back-leverage facilities), exposure across multiple asset classes (private credit/real estate debt/private equity/equity-backed financing), existing relationships with financial sponsors/managers/investors are preferred.
