About the role

We are looking for a Superintendent – Mine Water Management to join our team at Yandi Operations.

This is a critical leadership role where you will inspire and motivate frontline teams, foster a strong safety culture, and drive operational excellence. You’ll be an active part of a passionate and friendly team, supported by your leader to grow and achieve your own personal goals as well as the goals of the wider team.

You’ll work on a 5:2/4:3 roster which will give you more time to spend on the things that are important to you and the people in your life.   

Reporting to the Manager Mining, you will:

  • Act as an inspiring role model and coach, promoting positive behaviours, practices and processes while providing strong leadership, development and support to mine operations teams.
  • Drive a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with operational procedures, site standards and legislative requirements.
  • Manage all Mine Water Management tactical and technical activities, including planning, execution, monitoring and reporting.
  • Lead change and make effective decisions to deliver key productivity improvements and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Lead, develop and motivate teams, building capability and meaningful succession pathways.
  • Collaborate effectively and build strong relationships with key partners to achieve broader business objectives.
  • Measure, analyse and report on safety, people and productivity performance to exceed targets and drive continuous improvement.

  • Experience (substantive or acting) at Superintendent level within a production, technical or support function.

  • A demonstrated ability to build, engage and lead high-performing teams.
  • Proven capability to consistently deliver safety, operational outcomes and performance targets.
  • A current Western Australian “C” Class manual driver’s licence.

Where you will be working 

Located 95km north-west of Newman, Yandicoogina offers a range of fly in fly out rosters. As one of Australia's largest-producing iron ore mines; operating a fleet of autonomous trucks and drills, it generates more than 55 million tonnes of Hammersley Iron Yandi (HIY) fines each year.

Yandicoogina is known for its culture of teamwork, can-do attitude and pioneering spirit, leading the way with innovation and technological advances in autonomous operations and robotics.
