Position: Support Engineer
Location: Parkdale, Melbourne, Victoria
Job Type: Full-time
Overview:
As a Support Engineer at TheTubes, you will be at the forefront of our technical operations offering, ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of information systems across a wide range of organisations. You will be responsible for providing high-level technical support, guiding junior engineers, and improving our infrastructure through innovative solutions and proactive service management.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor, maintain, and manage client IT infrastructure to ensure system availability and reliability.
- Provide high-level technical support for complex and escalated issues related to systems, networking, and applications.
- Work closely with IT support staff and other departments to optimise service delivery and ensure alignment with business goals.
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and learning environment.
- Implement and manage system updates, backups, and patches.
- Proactively analyse and improve existing processes and tools to enhance client support, system performance, and security.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for system infrastructure and support procedures.
- Participate in the design and implementation of new solutions to meet business needs and improve service delivery.
- Coordinate with vendors and external support teams to resolve issues swiftly and efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with IT standards, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications & Experience :
- At least 5 years of experience in a support engineer role within a managed service provider environment.
- Strong understanding of IT systems, networking, and software support.
- Experience with Windows, Linux, Virtualisation ( VMWare / HyperV ), and network security ( Maraki / Fortinet / Sophos).
- Proven leadership skills and experience mentoring team members.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with team members and clients.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft, Cisco, VMware) are preferred.
