About the Role:
The Support Services Officer is the first point of contact for guests and visitors to the Crisis Stabilisation Centre (CSC), playing a key role in creating a welcoming, calm and trauma-informed experience. You'll provide frontline administrative and operational support, including reception, guest intake coordination, appointment scheduling, documentation management, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the service. This role requires professionalism, discretion, and compassion when supporting people who may be experiencing mental health distress.
The Crisis Stabilisation Centre (CSC) is an innovative new mental health service in South Australia, based on international best practice. Co-located with the Sonder-led Northern Adelaide Medicare Mental Health Centre, the CSC operates 24/7, providing a home-like environment where guests experiencing mental health crisis or distress can stay for up to 72 hours. The service is guided by a Peer First, Peer Last model and is committed to delivering trauma-informed, culturally safe care underpinned by zero suicide principles.
Experience Requirements:
Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced, client-facing administrative or front-of-house role.
Experience in the delivery of high-level, professional customer or guest service.
Experience in health, community services, or mental health related environment is highly desirable.
Experience dealing with members of the public, particularly those from vulnerable or high-needs backgrounds, in a sensitive and professional manner.
Experience using Electronic Medical Record systems or similar clinical data systems is desirable.
Qualification and Other Requirements:
Certificate level qualification in Business Administration or a similar field is desirable but not essential.
Relevant experience in an administrative or front-of-house role will be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.
Current or willing to obtain a Working with Children's Check (WWCC)
Current or willing to obtain a National Police Check (NPC)
Employment is subject to compliance with Sonder’s Immunisation Policy. Applicants must hold, or be willing to obtain, all vaccinations and immunisations required for the role.
