Surface Infrastructure Coordinator

Steelmaking coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world. 

Reporting to the Surface Infrastructure Superintendent, the Surface Electrical Coordinator is responsible for leading a team of surface electrical personnel to complete statutory and general work orders on the mine.

• Coordinate and lead a team to ensure Work Order compliance weekly and yearly including planning and execution.
• Ensure projects are completed to time and budget, and to high quality standards.
• Provide technical leadership for the surface electrical maintenance department.
• Plan for the electrical equipment and systems to operate in demanding conditions at the mine site.
• Assist the Surface Infrastructure Superintendent by planning and providing engineering support for the production section
• Installation, design, construction and commissioning electrical equipment and systems.
• installing, testing, maintaining, repairing, and reporting on all electrical equipment used at the mine.
• Provide trouble-shooting support to improve operational efficiencies.
• Work cooperatively with other departments, project managers, supply chain and mine management to optimize production, reduce costs, solve problems, and meet deadlines.

• Current Electrical License or Electrical tertiary qualification
• Electrical and Underground Mining Trade experience (advantageous)
• S11, S123 and G2
• Demonstrated experience in delivering key projects
• Display ability to be able to collaborate and communicate across different levels of the organization
• Project management skills to ensure the overhaul is delivered to scope, on time and within budget
• Exceptional organisational skills and strong attention to detail
• Experience with SAP or other computerized maintenance management systems
• An intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office suite of program
