About the role: 

Sensorem has a fantastic opportunity for a Surveyor to join Australia’s fastest-growing drone inspection company and work with the latest remote sensing equipment on challenging and high-profile surveying and inspection projects throughout Australia. Sensorem is seeking a Surveyor with a CASA Remote Pilot licence (RePL) to operate drone and other remote sensing equipment based out of our Perth (Subiaco) office. 
 

Start date:

Immediate start.

For this role, we’re seeking more than just a qualified Surveyor. The successful candidate will have a deep interest in remote sensing technology, show attention to detail, a solution-focused mindset, excellent communication skills, and consider safety as the number one priority. 

Candidates must be comfortable operating in a team environment, and equally, be able to work independently on projects in regional and remote areas.

This position includes some multi-day trips away into regional and remote areas of Australia. The position offers opportunities for career development in remote sensing technologies, including hardware and software. 

The position is full-time. 
 

About the business:

Sensorem has been a leading technology integrator and drone solutions provider since 2013, specialising in drone asset inspection, terrestrial laser scanning, photogrammetry, magnetometer and LiDAR surveys. Our projects span the country and are managed from our HQ in Perth. 

Sensorem is an Aerodyne Group company – an international DT3 enterprise solutions provider, leading the global tech curve in the use of drone data and AI-powered analytics to resolve complex industrial challenges. 

We operate a range of enterprise drone platforms, including multi-rotor, powered lift (VTOL), collision tolerant (caged drone) and NDT. Our data is transformed into meaningful insights through a range of in-house software packages. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Drone based data collection, processing and analysis, including; photogrammetry, LiDAR, magnetometer surveys. 
  • Plan survey control.
  • TLS and LiDAR SLAM based data collection, processing and analysis.
     

To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess:

  • Bachelor Degree (Mine and Engineering Surveying), or Advanced Diploma of Surveying 
  • Current Australian driver's license (manual preferred)
  • Full Australian working rights
  • Willing to travel on 1-2 week projects throughout regional and remote Australia 
  • Organised, well presented, professional
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Exposure to industrial or mining environments
  • Highly skilled in collecting and managing big data
  • Ability to perform job safety analysis and risk identification
  • Experience in using GIS/surveying software 
  • Total Station experience
  • Terrestrial laser scanners (Faro, Matterport, Leica)
  • Experience with Drone-based mapping projects
  • CASA RePL 
     

Desirable:

  • Experience using Trimble Business Center (TBC) software
  • Experience creating technical drafting documentation
  • Experience with stockpile volume calculations
  • 4WD training 
  • Senior first-aid (Current)
  • Construction induction training (White card)
  • Any previous mine site experience
