Systems and Safeguarding Coach (NDIS Quality Auditor) - Urgent Role

The Support Centre handles essential operational functions of service delivery management, finance management, scheduling, and compliance. This job description outlines the current role duties of the Systems and Safeguarding Coach but may be revised to meet evolving business needs

The Systems and Safeguarding Coach is responsible for championing and implementing best practice policies and programs related to quality and safeguarding governance. This includes supporting and coordinating compliance activities to ensure that the quality, safety, and risk management of participant experiences align with Aged Care, NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission practice standards, and VIVA Mutual’s registration requirements. The role aims to foster a safety-first culture across the organisation by driving a safety-centric approach and ensuring adherence to legislation, regulations, and standards.
 

Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead and implement internal auditing practices and provide reporting against NDIS and Aged Care Standards.
• Review findings of internal and external audits and implement corrective actions and improvements.
• Maintain VIVA Quality and Systems databases. 
• Develop tools and resources for audits and compliance assessments to achieve compliance and quality outcomes.
• Monitor industry quality standards and regulations.
• Develop and implement corrective and preventive action plans.
  
  Skills and Knowledge:
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in quality management, auditing, risk management, or a related field.
• Knowledge of relevant standards and legislation such as ISO 9001, ISO 31000, Aged Care Quality Standards, and NDIS Practice Standards. High-level communication skills.
• Familiarity with maintaining a quality management system/platform.
• Experience interpreting and applying legislation, regulations, and guidelines.
• Experience in aged care/disability sectors through audit and accreditation processes.
• Knowledge of WHS regulations, systems, and processes.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in quality, WHS, auditing, or governance.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Office and other systems.
• Ability to build relationships and influence others.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage workload and meet deadlines.
