Your role

Are you passionate about connecting great people with meaningful careers? Join the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) as a Talent Acquisition Officer and play a key role in shaping the workforce that helps deliver critical services and outcomes for the people of New South Wales.

In this dynamic and collaborative position, you'll partner with hiring managers to attract, engage and appoint talented individuals who are committed to making a real difference. Through your recruitment campaigns, you'll help attract talented people who contribute to safer, stronger and more inclusive communities and support the delivery of justice across the state.

What you’ll do

You'll lead end-to-end recruitment campaigns across a diverse portfolio, partnering with hiring managers to understand workforce needs and deliver tailored attraction, assessment and selection strategies. Drawing on your recruitment expertise, you'll provide trusted advice that helps leaders make informed hiring decisions and secure the talent needed to meet current and future business needs.

Building strong relationships will be central to your success. You'll work closely with candidates, hiring managers, HR Business Partners and senior stakeholders to deliver quality hiring outcomes, while ensuring a positive recruitment experience and meeting agreed service standards.

You'll also contribute to attraction, sourcing and assessment initiatives across the department. By identifying opportunities for improvement, seeking stakeholder feedback and sharing best practice, you'll help enhance talent acquisition processes while ensuring compliance with NSW Public Sector recruitment requirements.

What we’re looking for

We're interested in hearing from recruitment professionals who are organised, adaptable and passionate about delivering best-practice talent acquisition outcomes. You'll bring strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to build trusted partnerships with hiring managers, candidates and leaders across a diverse range of business areas.

You'll have experience managing recruitment activities in a fast-paced environment and be confident providing advice on attraction, assessment and selection strategies. Strong organisational skills, sound judgement and the ability to balance competing priorities will enable you to deliver quality recruitment outcomes while maintaining a positive experience for stakeholders throughout the recruitment process.

We're seeking people who have a strong understanding of contemporary talent acquisition practices and are committed to fair, inclusive and merit-based hiring. An understanding of the Government Sector Employment Act 2013 (GSE Act) and NSW Public Sector recruitment requirements will be highly regarded. You'll also bring a collaborative mindset, a commitment to continuous improvement and a passion for delivering best-practice recruitment outcomes.
