Job Description- Tax Manager (Nuwaru)

What is the role like?

In this new opportunity as Tax Manager, you will be responsible in ensuring the delivery of a varied and challenging range of tasks from tax advisory, tax compliance, business advisory, ATO tax reviews and audits, as well as tax governance for our clients. 

• Support our corporate tax, funds management and specialist tax partners with respect to client tax lodgement and compliance deadlines, including work in relation to income tax, GST and FBT 


• Provide support and assistance to research tax matters for our clients and assist with drafting corporate tax advice, as well as assisting in company restructures and M&A transactions 

• Working with Nuwaru partners to provide support for the corporate income tax provision and tax accounting processes for our clients, which may include secondments to those clients 

• Working with Nuwaru partners to provide support and assistance on governance and tax reviews of clients 

• Ability to provide insight into clients’ tax needs and identify solutions or any process improvements to meet these needs.  

What is expected from you?

• You are an experienced tax lawyer or chartered accountant with relevant tertiary qualifications (CA and/or LLM; Master of Taxation) along with commensurate practical experience 


• Have obtained professional licences, certifications and memberships (e.g., Lawyer of the Supreme Court of NSW; CAANZ, CPA, Affiliate member of The Tax Institute) 


• 6-8 years as an experienced tax advisor in corporate, financial services or similar environment with experience gained from professional accounting firms; top-tier law firms and/or in-house tax roles 


• Sound technical understanding and application of Australian corporate tax legislation and compliance matters 


• Familiarity with tax software-based business products (such as TR OneSource or CCH Integrator) will be an advantage 


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 


• Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
