The Team Leader supports the Branch Manager by overseeing the daily operations and functioning of a team. The focus is on enabling team members to develop and maintain strong client relationships while achieving maximum sales of insurance and financial services products. The role involves coaching, developing, and managing team performance to meet financial targets, alongside managing your own client needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Marketing
Achieve growth targets and retention rates
Contribute to acquiring new business and preparing submissions for new opportunities
Build and maintain a relevant network of business contacts
Assist in developing client revenue budgets and work to meet or exceed set targets
Client Service
Manage a portfolio of clients to ensure their insurance and risk management needs are fully addressed to their satisfaction
Maintain strong client relationships through timely, accurate administration including invoicing, quotes, premiums, and adjustments
Collect client information supporting renewal documentation and generate reports according to standards
Facilitate timely settlement of claims
Implement renewal and broking strategies per instructions, coordinating with claims teams to protect client interests
Proactively resolve client issues and respond to inquiries
Operations
Ensure practices are in place to reduce Errors & Omissions (E&O) claims
Assist with overall account management and debtor management, including minimizing debts beyond 180 days
Deeply understand and promote Gallagher’s insurance, financial services, and premium funding products during client interactions
Guarantee 100% accuracy in client documentation and internal procedures
Make decisions aligned with client needs, Gallagher policies, and relevant legislation
Escalate issues or grievances when necessary and identify cross-marketing opportunities
Uphold high ethical and professional standards to maintain Gallagher’s reputation and brand
Broking Excellence
Serve as a knowledgeable expert in insurance and risk management, acting as an intermediary for clients
Manage placement of insurance, claims processing, quoting, and renewal administration effectively
Maintain product knowledge relevant to specific sectors (such as Marine) and industry trends
Ensure compliance with applicable legislation, regulations, duties, levies, codes, and organizational standards
Use core broking and document management systems efficiently
Self-manage time to produce accurate work and sound advice
Collaborate with colleagues to benefit clients and the business
Be registered and qualified with the national insurance broker association
Comply with ASIC’s minimum training standards for financial product advisers (RG146)
