Overview of Program 



The Orange Door Partnership aims to address the needs of all Victorians who experience or use Family Violence as well as families who need support in relation to child wellbeing. The Bayside Peninsula Orange Door covers seven different local government areas from the City of Port Phillip down to the Mornington Peninsula. The Orange Door is an integrated intake and assessment service that is the referral pathway to Integrated Family Services, Specialist 
Women’s Family Violence Services and Men’s Behaviour Change. The Orange Door seeks to improve service capacity and integrate service delivery with a commitment to developing opportunities for timely, appropriate and where necessary, intensive interventions to prevent the escalation of risk factors and issues regarding vulnerable children and their families. The program operates through a partnership of 10 key service providers.



Position Objective



The Team Leader, Support and Safety Hub will be required to provide operational management of the Hub team, including managing workload and providing oversight and guidance to team members. The Team Leader will be required to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary, inter-Agency teams. 


 


Key Responsibilities



The key responsibilities include but are not limited to:





    • Leadership of integrated team of practitioners from partner agencies within Orange Door, managing workflow in line with Family Safety Victoria requirements, as well as home agency leadership of Family Life’s Orange Door Child Wellbeing Team. 



    • Contribute to quality, practice development and continuous improvement in response to Family Violence 



    • Encourage, model and create cultures that promote respectful relationships, both inside and outside of the Orange Door /Support and Safety Hub 



    • Coordinate and lead family violence focused direct supervision, leadership and professional development for team members  



    • Collaborate and consult with the other Orange Door Team Leaders around staff practice to help inform their line management processes.

    • Comply with agency, program and legislative requirements in relation to information sharing, case recording and data entry requirements 



    • Work closely with the local Family Violence services [including Victoria Police], family services agencies, the Aboriginal Liaison Worker, Senior Child Protection Practitioner, Community Based and other service providers to provide creative, flexible intake service responses for women, men, children and families with complex issues and who may be difficult to engage 



    • Possible coordination, development and delivery of programs, community education and other community engagement and groups 



    • Work with partner agencies across justice, health and social services to build capacity through providing secondary consultation, expert advice and guidance, provision of learning, development, mentoring, supervision and opportunities for reflective practice 



    • Perform other duties consistent with the position as required by the organisation and consistent with meeting the contractual and compliance obligations of the organisation as these may vary over time 



    • Attend other relevant meetings including network meetings to ensure appropriate referral and response pathways for client 




    Key Selection Criteria




    • Minimum Bachelor level qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Family Therapy or related field with eligibility for membership of an appropriate professional association 

    • Experience working systemically with families impacted upon by Family Violence and ability to apply this to leadership 



    • Strong leadership skills: ability to motivate and build a high performing teamwork environment and support staff by providing specialist family violence supervision and training. 



    • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders 



    • Understanding of key Family Violence frameworks, including MARAM, RAMP and AVERT and underpinning theories including Feminist Theory, Family Violence Practice, Trauma Theory, Systems Theory and Attachment Theory.  



    • Experience working with families and children experiencing complex needs and risk issues in any of the following services areas: Family Services, Child Protection, Housing, Family Violence, Disability, Mental Health and/or Alcohol and Other Drugs 



    • Excellent communication and self-management skills, and ability to be self-directed

    • Knowledge of working with vulnerable communities, in particular ATSI, CALD and LGBT 



    • Ability and willingness to manage projects (design, deliver, evaluate) 



    • Ability to lead and support continuous quality improvement 



    • Information technology skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite 



    • Employs an ethical and professional approach to practice 



    • Commitment to parent and child-focused, inclusive practice and strength-based interventions 



    • Fluency in a second language, other than English an advantage
