Technical Director - Project Strategy and Delivery

Take action to deliver responsibilities by:

• Project Leadership and Delivery

a.    Lead, Support and / or assist internal and external project teams across multiple Sectors (Transport, Defence, Health, Energy, Water etc.) to fulfil Mott MacDonald’s Scope of Service and Contractual obligations.  
b.    Positively communicate (verbal, written or otherwise) and collaborate with internal and external project personnel to foster a project culture aligned with Mott MacDonald PRIDE values.

• Risk Management and Assurance

a.    Support the National Risk and Assurance Lead in building a risk and assurance practice across sectors of Energy, Transport, Water, Built Environment, International Development, Buildings and Advisory clients. 
b.    Work with other sectors/technical disciplines – climate change, digital, rail, ports, gas, renewable energy, buildings to promote Risk and Assurance services and add differentiators to our product offerings in this area to provide a holistic approach to winning and delivering work.

• Mott MacDonald Internal Project Management and Controls

a.    Act as Mott MacDonald internal Project Principal or Project Manager 
b.    Administer and monitor the delivery of projects in accordance with Mott MacDonald’s internal Business Management System (STEP), and standardised reporting systems and project administration tools (i.e. Connect Business and CRM).

• Line Management / Recruitment

a.    Identify key recruits and support bringing them into the business.
b.    If requested, act as Line Manager for Mott MacDonald staff to help guide, mentor, and coach their professional development and career pathway at Mott MacDonald.
c.    Mentor more junior members of staff and upskill them as future leaders/technical specialists.

• Culture 

a.    Be a proactive and present member of the Mott MacDonald team and contribute to a culture of ongoing innovation, thought leadership, and learning and development, including being an ambassador in the market, prepare materials for and attend industry events.
b.    Support creating, developing, and embedding technical excellence to our clients

• Client Relationships

a.    Bring and establish long term positive client relationships, and secure advisory consultancy work from key clients.
b.    Engage positively with our clients to share our collective experience

• Communication

a.    Use advanced communication skills and experience in external and internal stakeholder management to influence the outcome of key client decisions and deliver strategic outcomes for clients

• Safety & Wellbeing

a.    Foster a positive culture of safety and wellbeing by participating in safety leadership activities including safety walks, positive interventions, and incident reporting.

• Winning Work 

a.    Lead the identification of opportunities and converting them into prospects. Converting prospects into projects through bid teams by ensuring bids are technically excellent and commercially sound.
b.    Identify key partner organisations and facilitate teaming to position for opportunities
