About the Role

At Bilue, we set a high bar for quality, craft, and client impact. As a Technical Lead (Solution Architect), you’ll take ownership of complex modernisation programs across Azure, bringing clarity to technical direction and execution in a highly regulated financial environment.



This is a crucial role, you’ll be front and centre with one of our key banking clients based in Newcastle, shaping a solution that will set the foundation for future partnerships and ongoing work. The quality of your delivery and leadership will directly influence how Bilue continues to grow our presence in this sector.



Given the close collaboration required, we’re seeking someone currently based in Newcastle or open to relocating for a minimum of 12 months to work on-site with the client and their teams. You’ll operate where strategy meets delivery, translating enterprise architecture into elegant, scalable solutions, and guiding teams to deliver work that stands up to scrutiny and exceeds client expectations.



Responsibilities

• Lead cloud and technology modernisation programs end-to-end in an Azure environment.
• Design and implement microservices, APIs, and distributed systems built for performance, resilience, and compliance.
• Partner directly with senior client stakeholders to shape solutions that align with business objectives, governance, and security standards.
• Elevate delivery teams through hands-on technical guidance, mentorship, and a relentless focus on engineering excellence.
• Drive continuous improvement in quality, performance, and delivery practices.
• Stay ahead of industry and cloud trends, applying insight to craft modern, secure, and forward-looking solutions.

About You

• Extensive experience in banking or financial services is essential, you understand the regulatory landscape, risk frameworks, and complexity of delivering in this domain.
• Proven track record leading large-scale cloud modernisation or transformation programs.
• Deep expertise in Azure architecture, microservices, and API-driven platforms.
• Strong communicator, able to simplify complex technical concepts and influence senior stakeholders.
• Known for setting high standards in engineering quality and delivery discipline.
• Equally comfortable working at a strategic level and diving into technical detail when it matters.
• Relevant Azure certifications or equivalent real-world experience are highly regarded.
