Our Isaac Plains Mine is a metallurgical coal mine owned and operated by Stanmore and located 20km's outside of Moranbah.  

The Opportunity 

We have an opportunity for a Technical Services Manager role within the site team.  You will provide an integral role in the operation's senior leadership team for the mine. 

You will be a strong leader who possesses a proactive, innovative and solution-based focus to ensure the Technical Services Team is set up for success. 

In this role you will be accountable for:

• Delivery of, adjustment to and tracking of safe and efficient mine plans within the budget time horizon (week 0 to 2 years).
• Managing the delivery of mine planning, mine design, survey, geology and geotechnical services to the production team, corporate stakeholders, other site based departments and external stakeholders as required.
• Design, governance and monitoring of geotechnical, body of water and dam failure risk.
• Leading and managing the site mine planning, mine design, survey, geology and geotechnical departments
• Communicating the budget and forecast positions and requirements to the GM and Senior Site Leadership team.
• Influencing the development of Life of Mine Plans and Environmental Approval Submissions.

About You 

You will have exceptional leadership skills and strong alignment with Stanmore values to continue to drive the success of our Isaac Plains Mine mining operation.  In addition, it is expected you will have:

• Experience leading large, multidisciplinary technical teams
• Demonstrated scheduling experience working in large open pit coal mining operations including scheduling for draglines and Life of Mine Planning exposure
• Understanding of value drivers in large open pit coal mining operations including but not limited to pit shell optimisation, coal blending and constraint theory
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Geology or similar
• AusIMM membership, RPEQ and CP qualifications (ideal but not essential)
• 10+ years’ experience working in a team environment.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate and integrate multiple workstreams/systems (Mine Planning, Resources, Operations).
• Demonstrated ability to identify and apply behaviours that contribute to the development of a high-performance team culture
