As the Technology & Business Continuity Risk Specialist, your primary purpose will be to support the governance and oversight of technology and business continuity risk inclusive of information and cyber security across the QTC three lines of defence model. You will play a crucial role in driving continuous improvement, contributing to and evolving the information security management system in alignment to ISO27001 industry standards. As an important member of the Chief Risk Office, you will leverage the QTC risk management system to balance internal stakeholders including line one management, internal and external audit, and relevant subject matter experts to ensure appropriate identification, assessment, and independent oversight of risks to the QTC mission.

 

Some key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support the development and enhancement of related domain policies and procedures focusing on operational risk and resilience incorporating stress testing and scenario analysis.
  • Support controls assessment and testing including planning, executing, and supporting the documenting of key controls to evaluate controls and recommend enhancements.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on operational risk matters, providing advice to internal stakeholders in the identification, assessment, and management of key risks within information technology.
  • Facilitate risk reviews to ensure risk areas are appropriately reviewed, managed, monitored, and integrated with the overall delivery of the risk framework and recorded within the GRC system.
  • Provide support to the operational processes associated with third-party risk management.
  • Contribute to the development of appropriate risk reporting/dashboards.
  • Support the identification, monitoring and reporting of key risk metrics and exposure.
  • Drive and support the delivery of the risk and control testing plan for the technology domain.
  • Identify, evaluate, monitor, and manage risks associated with third parties.
  • Maintain and support the ongoing management of QTC’s business continuity framework and testing program to support operational resilience.
  • Support the business with procedures for identifying, assessing, and managing risks.
  • Ability to work autonomously when needed.

 

Candidate’s background will demonstrate:

  • minimum 2 years’ experience utilising and improving risk management systems within medium enterprise.
  • extensive experience within a risk management role, in a complex or regulated organisation.
  • strong experience in operational risk and enterprise risk in a financial services environment.
  • demonstrated knowledge and application of risk, information security and business continuity.
  • strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships across the business.
  • excellent critical thinking skills with an ability to be proactive.
  • strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
  • analytical capability.

 

Technical skills (desirable)

  • Power BI
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, in particular Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Tertiary qualification in Finance, Commerce, Risk Management, or a related discipline.

Knowledge of the following Standards:

  • ISO/IEC 27000-series information security standards.
  • CPS 230 Operational Risk Management.
  • CPS 234 Information Security.
  • CPS 220 Risk Management.
