Technology Governance Lead

As a Technology Governance Lead, you'll play a critical role in strengthening how Technology governs, measures and delivers value across Australian Retirement Trust. This is a senior role responsible for shaping governance frameworks, decision-making practices, performance reporting and operating rhythms that enable transparency, accountability and strategic alignment.

Working within our Technology Capability & Performance function, you’ll work closely with Technology leaders and enterprise stakeholders, you'll drive governance maturity, improve the quality of decision-making, and provide the insights, frameworks and reporting needed to support executive and Board oversight. 

This role is a permanent opportunity and is based in Brisbane.

• Design, embed and continuously improve Technology governance frameworks, standards and decision-making practices. 
• Lead the development of governance models, decision rights, authority structures and governance charters. 
• Establish and operate governance forums that support Technology performance, investment and strategic decision-making. 
• Drive governance reporting standards and deliver high-quality insights for senior leaders, executives and Boards. 
• Maintain Technology performance frameworks, including KPIs, SLAs and operational measures. 
• Partner across Technology, Finance, Portfolio, Architecture and Risk functions to strengthen governance alignment and transparency. 
• Identify opportunities to simplify governance processes, improve effectiveness and uplift governance maturity. 
• Support Technology operating model initiatives by embedding clear governance structures, accountabilities and operating rhythms. 
• Provide trusted advice on governance expectations, pathways and organisational decision-making.

You’ll be a strong communicator with exceptional stakeholder engagement skills. You'll be comfortable working with ambiguity, influencing senior leaders and translating complex information into clear governance insights and actions. 
It's likely you'll also tick some of the following boxes: 
 

• Significant experience designing, implementing and operating technology governance frameworks and enterprise governance practices. 
• Strong knowledge of governance and control frameworks, including COBIT, ITIL/ITSM or comparable industry standards. 
• Experience supporting executive and Board governance forums through high-quality reporting, insights and decision-support material. 
• Demonstrated experience establishing or managing technology performance frameworks, including KPIs, SLAs and operational measures. 
• Understanding of investment governance, portfolio delivery, benefits realisation and organisational performance reporting. 
• Strong facilitation, influencing and stakeholder management skills, with experience working across complex technology environments. 
• Experience operating within financial services or another highly regulated industry. 
• Relevant qualifications in Technology, Business, Governance or related disciplines, with governance, service management certifications highly regarded.
