Driveand Deliver

Driving atruck and dog tipper for Hanson is great role if you enjoy having a little bitof variety in your day, but you also enjoy a bit of routine. On some days youwill be meeting with new customers but on others you will be seeing the samefaces as yesterday. You don’t have to be a customer service super star, but itwould help if you can hold a conversation with our customers when you need to.

Aboutthe role:

Most days will start between 4am and 6am and drivers can do up to and over 10 hours per day, and around 50 – 55 hours per week. Saturday work is generally available, paid at overtime rates

We pay a base rate and once you go past your regular hours in one day the first two after that will be at time and a half. If you do more than 2 hours overtime in a day, you go to double time. Meal allowances are generally paid after 10 hours in one shift

You will be operating our truck and dogs with tipper trailers. If you haven’t mastered the art of a dual tip, don’t worry, we’ll show you how.

Most days will start at our quarry, and you will be delivering aggregates to our clients. Some days will be the same as the last one, but others will have a bit of variety in where you drop off.

We provide cutting edge technology to not only keep you safe whilst driving, but also to help you map your routes and keep track of your day

Aboutyou:

Minimum of HC license with previous truck and dog driving experience (essential)

You enjoy meeting people, but you also enjoy the solitude of driving

You don’t mind a bit of variety in your working days but also enjoy working to a set route and routine

You take pride in the appearance of your truck. Keep it clean, give it a wash and present the best image of our company. You are a mobile billboard and people notice a dirty truck

Able to pass a pre-employment medical, including a drug and alcohol test (random testing is also conducted on all Hanson sites)

Some of our trucks have driver weight limits on their seats and seatbelts. For safety reasons, you may be required to be under a specified weight for these trucks
