Are you a natural hunter who thrives on opening doors, building relationships and creating opportunities from scratch?

We’re looking for a driven and commercially savvy Trade Account Manager to take ownership of a high-potential territory and accelerate growth. This is a genuine new business development opportunity where you'll be empowered to identify prospects, open new accounts and establish Hudson's Mitre 10 as the preferred trade partner in the region.

Based out of St Marys, you'll spend the majority of your time in the field, connecting with builders, contractors, developers and trade professionals, uncovering opportunities and turning them into long-term, profitable partnerships.

This is not a role focused on managing an established portfolio. It's about building your own customer base, growing market share and driving revenue through proactive business development activities. What You'll Be Doing

This is a highly autonomous, customer-facing role where you'll be responsible for driving growth across your territory through proactive sales activity.

You will:

• Identify, prospect and secure new trade customers across the Western Suburbs region


• Develop and execute a territory growth plan focused on new business acquisition and market share expansion


• Build strong relationships with builders, developers, contractors and trade professionals


• Generate leads through networking, referrals, site visits, industry events and cold calling


• Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and qualification through to negotiation and account onboarding


• Present tailored timber, hardware and building material solutions that add value to customers' businesses


• Actively seek opportunities to increase customer spend and expand product penetration


• Monitor competitor activity, market trends and local opportunities to drive strategic growth


• Prepare and present compelling quotes, proposals and business cases


• Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure a seamless customer experience and successful account implementation


• Maintain an active sales pipeline and accurately track activity through CRM systems


• Deliver against sales, growth and customer acquisition targets

What You'll Bring

We're looking for someone who loves the challenge of winning business and takes pride in building strong customer relationships that deliver long-term results.

You'll bring:

• Proven success in business development, territory sales or account acquisition roles


• A strong track record of identifying opportunities and converting prospects into loyal customers


• Experience within the timber, hardware, building materials, construction or trade industry (highly regarded)


• A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to work autonomously in the field


• Confidence in prospecting, networking, negotiating and closing deals


• Excellent relationship-building skills and the ability to establish credibility quickly


• Strong commercial acumen and an ability to identify growth opportunities


• Experience managing sales pipelines and using CRM systems effectively


• Outstanding communication, presentation and influencing skills


• A current driver's licence and a willingness to travel throughout your territory
